My Matthew is Getting Married

My son Matthew and his Fiance of 10 years Michaela have set the date for their wedding and its all systems go in the planning stage, I am pleased to say they have booked the church for 15th of September 2013. I am so excited that they are involving me to help with pulling it all together, so now I have to wear the wedding planner hat again.
Well being a lover of cross stitching and paper-crafting I have already volunteered myself for the invitations and everything else created from paper and I am starting to think of a design for the ring-bearers pillow too. at least I have plenty of time to get them done and oh I am going to enjoy myself ;o)

nine eleven

10 years on and I still cannot imagine the trauma, the horror or the grief that people went through in the 9-11 terrorist attack.
I watched on tv as the story broke, I cried as my jaw dropped in disbelief
...I had never heard of Bin Laden or Al Qaeda
I didn't know anyone who died or even had been remotely connected to any of the victims
but I felt overwhelmingly sorry and grief stricken
for what folk were going through by the hands of such evil people.
I bow my head once again today in respect not only for the people who died,
but the families who fought back with dignity and faith that life could go on
God Bless you all
here's my latest update
I have filled in a lot of the details in the main picture

I started a bit of the backstitch on the face of the lady bear and her hat.
I find it amazing how backstitch really defines the areas
and adds depth to the whole picture.
I still have quite a bit to do but feel at least now I am getting near to finishing

Home is Where Your Honey is...

Last week is was having a sort out and came across a bag of
cross stitch books and mags. As I searched through them I found a book by Joan Elliott "Cross Stitch Sentiments and Sayings"
with a photocopied chart which had been coloured in a lot!!
Then the penny dropped LOL
I remembered that back in 2007 (the year I married Kev)
I started a cute cross stitch for him but I never finished it,
and there it was safely wrapped up in tissue paper.
I can't believe I totally forgot about this work in progress
it's well over half finished. Needless to say I have now decided that
"I've started so I'll finish" so I am working on this one too .
